About TGIF Links
TGIF Links is a social site for bloggers and webmasters. It's designed to allow you to find and share articles, read and take part in discussions and network with other users. Here's a summary of how to get started or - if you prefer, watch the screenshot video (below) for detailed instructions on how to submit your links:
- Articles & Discussions: The front page of TGIF Links is what you'll see first when you come into the site. This page shows you articles submitted to TGIF Links which have been voted up by other members of the community. Click the "comments" link below each description to start or join in discussion about the article. If you're busy and want to know what's popular or recently submitted, click the tabs at the top of the page for an updated list. You can also see the latest comments, activity and new journal entries in the footer. If you prefer to follow TGIF Links via RSS, you can do that, too!
- Share Your Favorites: Found an article, tool or resource you want to share with others? After logging in (or registering, if this is your first submission), click "Submit" (very top of the page in the navigation bar) and enter the URL for that web page. You'll be whisked to a page where you can enter a brief description and then your submission will appear on the Latest page of TGIF Links. If enough people vote for it, your article will move up to the Popular page. To submit something, you have to become a member. It's free, easy, and only takes a few moments. Sign-up here.
- Start Discussions: Each article submitted to TGIF Links has a comment form which you can use to start a discussion about the submission. Other users can reply to your comments and you can reply to them, too. If you'd like to discuss something which doesn't have a link, you can post your thoughts in your Journal. Click your avatar and then Journal from the menu on your profile. Like regular submissions, users can reply to you by leaving comments (social networking!).
- Network: Looking to meet other bloggers and web enthusiasts? We make it easy. Submit interesting articles or make important points in discussions, and people might decide to follow you. "Following" means someone's interested in following what you're doing here. You can view all your fans at any time by clicking Fans on your profile page. Find some of them interesting? Follow them back, and that turns them into friends at TGIF Links. You can even send them private messages!
That's the quick overview of TGIF Links. Other things you can do include browsing categories, tags, or searching for specific articles. There are also tools you can use to bookmark articles on TGIF Links or place a TGIF Links button on your blog, so that your readers can share and vote for your articles.
Aside from the community itself, TGIF Links has administrators and moderators that watch over things and keep the site ticking along. You can contact us about anything from the Contact page.
